The European REPLACE project, from the H2020 program, rewards “green” facilities with a label that is incorporated on site.
A technical visit has been made to the heating network in Aranda de Duero, a municipality in the province of Burgos, with the REBI company, a member of the local project support group.
The purpose of the visit was to see in situ the facilities and the energy management of this 100% biomass district network.
Representatives from EREN and Escan inspected the facilities and as they were in accordance with the objectives of the REPLACE project, the 100% renewable heating labels were placed.

The REBI company offers the complete service of heat and DHW to the communities of owners using local wood chips as fuel, thus giving employment to the area and using a very little exploited resource such as logging and cleaning of mountains; the sale of energy is for a fixed and variable term (it is reviewed annually with the IPC) and the old boilers are kept for an emergency.
The Amatex lumber company, with more than 25 years of experience, supplies the chips for the nets, it is a REBI AMATEX binomial. The Aranda de Duero network with two 5 and 7 MW boilers supplies more than 1,200 heating points and in most of them also DHW.
