The European SmartEPC project promotes the use of Smart systems for public lighting This project began last February with the participation of the Murcia and Rivas Vaciamadrid City Councils and the collaboration of Escan Energy Consulting. Several case studies of real projects and installations in the participating countries have been analyzed and a documentation on the smartification of public lighting projects will be produced in the coming months.
At the end of the year, it is intended to create a contract model, possibly modular and using the EPC model so that the new public lighting considers other systems: electric vehicle recharging, 5G, etc. So that resources and data monitoring are used in a “smart” way. The City Councils of Murcia and Rivas will carry out projects with this model.
