European regulations, specifically the revision of the EPBD and DEE, set out, amongst other objectives, an increase in the rate of building renovations. Furthermore, the Technical Building Code and the RITE are being amended to comply with the new calculation methods and minimum energy efficiency ratios. This September, the new model for energy performance certificates for buildings will come into use in Spain, considering the previous aspects.
RENOBOOST project will also include new tools to improve building certification, considering data from other sources when feasible refurbishment plans, building passports, SRI, etc. Tecnalia, as project coordinator partner, and Escan are leading the identification of digital tools, data sources and stakeholders, as well as the interactive validation workshops to be held in the three participating countries.
Over the next 24 months, the partners will work on models to improve EPCs through mapping, outreach and the organization of workshops with relevant stakeholders to identify data, digital tools and barriers.
