It seems important to us that the La Pereda Thermoelectric Power Plant – HUNOSA, be converted to forest biomass, once coal has been abandoned. More than 15 years ago Escan participated with HUNOSA and other organizations in the pioneering “Eco-Combos” project.
A team from Escan energy consulting coordinated by Margarita Salve, partner-consultant, designed the logistics principles for residual forest biomass for direct co-combustion plants. With this adaptation Asturias places itself on the front line with the energy transition and climate change objectives.
